GIOVANNI LEANTI LA ROSA was born on February 28, 1945 in Noto (Siracusa), Italy

Career path:

Degree in Agricultural Sciences at the University of Catania (1970)

Degree in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Milan (1981), specializing in medical hydrology, climatology, thalassotherapy and hot spring therapy.

Nutrition and dietetics professor at the T.F. State Institute of Dietary Studies and the A. Vespucci Hotel Institute of Milan (1975-85).

Studies and practices bio-energetic massage, body techniques (derived from the theories ofWilhelm Reich), Rolfing, Yoga, Gestalt Therapy, visualization and meditation with Susan Schwartz, American psychologist of the Esalem Institute, Big Sur, California (1978-1980).

Sets up and runs the Fitness Clinic at the Pollina (Sicily) ValturVillageResort with Francesco Conti (1982).

Serves as dietician on fitness cruises organized by the magazine Les Nouvelles Esthétiques with the Costa Line(1984-85).

Studies herbal remedies, phytotherapy, phytocosmetics, and natural and psychosomatic medicine, exploring the synergies between these disciplines and both traditional and Chinese medicine. Develops his own massotherapic method, building on years of experience in the practice of stress-relieving therapies and Eastern and Western massage techniques, which he calls “Massaggio Antistress” (Stress-relieving Massage) (1980’s).

Plans, organizes and directs the Health and Beauty Center “Immagine” at the Grand Hotel Milano in Salsomaggiore Terme (Italy) (1987).

Opens the first Holistic Health and Beauty Center in Milan, “Le Muse” (1987-1994).

Publishes his first book, “Il Massaggio Antistress”, Musumeci Editore, in 1989.

His second book, “Guarire diventando medico di se stesso” (“Self-healing”), written with journalist-disciple Valeria Mugnai Graziano, Musumeci Editore appears in 1990.

Publishes articles and interviews in such Italian specialty, women’s andpopular magazines and dailies as Riza Psicosomatica, Salve, Star Bene, Dossier Salute, Guida Cucina, Vogue Bellezza, Vital, Vitality, Gioia, Marie Claire, Silhouette Donna, Bella, Confidenze, Les Nouvelles Esthetiques (Italian and Spanish edition), Amica, Capital, Europeo, Corriere della Sera, Repubblica, La stampa, Il Giornale, IlGiorno, Il Resto del Carlino, etc.

Participates in Radio and TV shows (RAI 1, Canale 5, Telelombardia, Telenova, Antenna 3, Odeon TV) as guest expert on hot springs, stress-related problems, natural therapies, diets and health-oriented holidays.

Presents his two books on TV as a guest of the Maurizio Costanzo Talk Show.

Repeatedly tours Italy with training programs for beauticians in the major Italian cities sponsored by RVB Piana Cosmetics, a leader in the professional cosmetics line (between 1989 and 1993).

Conducts basic training and advanced courses in holistic massage for the beauticians of DIBI Center and BECOS Club throughout Italy (1995-1999).

Directs company workshops on office stress management sponsored by AST Computer, attended by businessmen, managers and staff (1995-96).

Conducts group classes on office stress management for ASTRON Corporate Consultants with psychologist Amleto Caputo.

Founds the European School of Massage Therapy in the year 2000.The School offers basic training and advanced courses in “5-Star”, customized, high-performance massage techniques, including stress-relieving massage, therapeutical massage and stress-relieving techniques, water massage, office massage, massage with stones.

Participates in international conventions and symposiums addressing stress and massotherapy in Spain (1985-86-87), France (1986), Portugal (1986), Mexico (1987), China (2001) and Chile (2003).

Participates in the international symposium: “Massage Across 5 Continents”, organized in February 2004 within the framework of the “Spa” Fair in Rome, where he presents his patented method of stress-relieving massage.

Has lately traveled abroad at the request of:

- “Hun International”, a leader in the field of urban fitness facilities, to conduct stress relieving massage training programs on location in Taiwan, for beauticians belonging to the group (2001).

  • COSVAN, a professional cosmetics concern run by Dr. Fontboté, to lecture and conduct five stress relieving massage training courses at the International Symposium of Beauticians in Chile (2003).
